USA Cancels Michael Ealy’s “Common Law”

Common Law Promotional Image, CBS Television Studios

As I suspected (but hoped against), my favorite summer series Common Law will have no new episodes. After one season, the humorous buddy cop/crime show starring the dreamy Michael Ealy and Warren Kole has been cancelled. The news was made official this week, from USA VP Linhart’s tweet: “I can confirm to those who have asked that we are not renewing Common Law. Thanks to all the fans who watched and expressed their support.”

USA pretty much let the contract expire on the cast earlier this year. The numbers are telling though: with a little under 2 million viewers on average, it was the lowest rates scripted series on the network.

Hopefully the cast will find more work soon.
